With a wide T/1.4 aperture, the DZOFilm Arles film lenses are ideal for low-light photography and provide a shallow depth of field for aesthetic foreground subjects. With a wide-open aperture, they ensure smooth reproduction of intricate details of light and shadows, and also offer consistent colour reproduction. Arles lenses with interchangeable PL (standard) and EF (optional) bayonets offer broad compatibility with a variety of film cameras, giving filmmakers unrivalled versatility. They are also compatible with the DZOFilm Koop magnetically mounted back filters! They are compatible with professional cameras with FF or VV size sensors up to medium format (43.8 x 32.9 mm; 25-50 mm) or large format devices such as the ALEXA 65 (54.12 x 25.59 mm; 75-180 mm).

The 14 mm, 21 mm and 25 mm focal length lenses each contain two aspherical elements, which improves image quality in low light. Thanks to their high-precision design, they effectively correct spherical aberration and coma, and minimise wide-angle distortion and astigmatism. The entire range uses low dispersion optical materials that suppress chromatic aberration, resulting in exceptional optical performance. Built-in floating lens elements significantly minimise aberration during the infinity to near focus transition; minimising breathing is commonplace.

The internal structure uses sandblasting and anodising techniques to create an effective anti-reflective layer with very low reflectivity. The lenses provide clear and sharp images even when shooting directly against the light. The range also uses advanced multi-layer optical surface treatment and features a specially calibrated blue coating to minimise glare and effectively reduce stray light and ghosting. This ensures stable and controllable glare.

The DZOFilm Arles lenses are designed to work seamlessly with standard film accessories and feature a uniform front diameter of 95 mm and a filter size of 86 mm. Thanks to the standard M0.8 gear design and the uniform positioning of the focus and aperture rings, changing lenses and accessories throughout the range does not require any gear change, greatly increasing efficiency when shooting. With the exception of 135mm and 180mm lenses, all lenses have the same body length, further simplifying lens changes. Their lightweight and compact design (weighing between 1.4 and 1.9 kg) allows easy integration with stabilizers, drones and steadicams, opening up unlimited shooting possibilities, including handheld, vehicle, shoulder and aerial.
